Who We Are &
How We Work

An NHS general practice partnership operating at scale — clinically led, locally rooted, and open to collaboration.

We are an NHS general practice partnership providing care for patients across 14 local sites in central Scotland. Founded in 2014 in Maryhill, Glasgow, we operate across Glasgow, West Lothian, and Edinburgh. Each practice is part of its own community, with familiar GPs, nurses, and staff — while benefiting from the support and stability of a larger organisation.

We believe general practice needs to change to meet the needs of today's patients. That means improving access, offering choice, and making it easier to get the right help at the right time. We aim to make it as easy as possible for patients to get the right care at the right time.

What We Are

We work closely with NHS Health Boards and local practices to make sure services remain safe, accessible, and sustainable. While our practices look and feel similar across sites, this is intentional — a welcoming, well-designed environment supports better care for patients and a better working environment for staff.

What we are not
We are not a private practice
We are not owned by a single person or company
We are not a corporate provider
An NHS Partnership

We are a GP partnership operating within NHS structures, with multiple equity-sharing partners. All partners hold an equal share and full voting rights. We operate through an elected executive board.

Locally Rooted

While our footprint is large, our model remains that of a traditional GP partnership. Local partners, nurses, and teams deliver care within their own communities. Details of each local team are displayed on our in-house screen system at every site.

Scale Without Distance

Our experience has shown that scale, when used thoughtfully, creates opportunities rather than distance. It allows practices to remain clinically led and locally rooted, while benefiting from shared infrastructure, resilience, and expertise.

Working at Scale

Operating at scale allows us to centralise routine administrative and operational functions. Routine work is broken down into defined streams and managed through central hubs — reducing duplication, improving consistency, and allowing clinical teams to focus on patient care rather than administration.

What We Centralise

Prescribing and medicines management, document processing and registrations, chronic disease management administration, payroll, finance and IT, and HR advice and support.

Prescribing Document Processing Chronic Disease Admin Finance & IT HR Support
Operational Excellence

We apply structured, single-task workflows to high-volume processes. This has delivered significant increases in electronic prescribing and reductions of over 50% in daily acute prescription requests, alongside faster turnaround times and fewer patient follow-ups.

Finance

Our finance function is fully centralised and professionally led, using modern accounting systems to support forecasting, cost control, and transparent reporting — ensuring financial sustainability and informed decision-making across the partnership.

For practices joining us: local leadership and clinical identity are retained, while you gain access to a professionally managed operational backbone.
Digital & Access Model

We recognised early that many existing GP online systems were poorly integrated, overly reliant on triage, and added complexity for both staff and patients. Rather than adopting bolt-on solutions, we designed and implemented our own GP front-door system.

Built Around Patient Choice

The system is built around patient choice rather than mandatory triage. Patients can select services, book appointments in advance, and access online requests where appropriate. Requests can be clinically reviewed and redirected if needed, without creating parallel systems for staff.

More Than a Website

The platform replaces the traditional practice website while meeting all NHS requirements. It also functions as a patient portal and app-style access point. Fully integrated telephony allows text links to be sent to patients before or during contact, improving flow and reducing call demand.

Getting in Touch

Patients can contact us in several ways — by phone, by booking online, or using online request forms. Our systems are designed to give choice. Online options are available for convenience, but patients can always speak to a member of our team. We do not require a form for every contact.

Modern Telephony

We use modern telephone systems with call-back options, so patients do not need to wait on hold. Text messages are used to share links for appointments, prescriptions, and online forms, helping patients access services quickly and easily.

Patient feedback has been consistently strong, with ratings around 4.4 out of 5, and approximately 30% of contacts are now managed digitally — without excluding those who prefer traditional access routes.
Patient Care

Above all, our focus is on providing safe, high-quality, compassionate care — now and in the years ahead. Here is how we deliver that across each of our services.

Appointments

We offer face-to-face, telephone, and online consultations. Most appointments are available on the day. A proportion can be booked online in advance, with early-morning online release at 5am to avoid phone queues. Our GP front-door system guides patients to the most appropriate service.

Urgent and Same-Day Care

If a problem is urgent, patients can always speak to a member of the team. Children will always be seen face to face on the same day where there are concerns about their health.

Home Visits and Vulnerable Patients

We provide a dedicated home-visiting service led by senior paramedics, supported by GPs. This allows us to respond quickly and focus care on patients who are most frail or housebound.

Prescriptions

Prescriptions are managed through dedicated prescription teams. Patients are asked to request prescriptions online where possible, as this is safer and helps reduce errors. Our teams are available to help with prescription queries. Structured workflows have delivered reductions of over 50% in daily acute prescription requests.

Long-Term Conditions

We invite patients for reviews of long-term conditions using planned, condition-based recalls. This allows us to provide more structured, timely, and effective care.

Mental Health Support

We employ senior mental health clinicians who work directly with patients experiencing mental health difficulties or crisis, ensuring timely support and appropriate care.

A Partnership Approach

We have grown by working collaboratively with practices facing workload, staffing, or sustainability pressures — and by merging with like-minded practices. In all cases, the objective is the same: protect patient care, support clinicians, and create a sustainable future for general practice.

What Practices Working With Us Can Expect

Clinical leadership to remain central. Local identity and continuity of care to be preserved. Administrative burden to be reduced. Access to shared infrastructure, technology, and expertise. A collaborative approach to change and integration.

Property

We can also help solve property challenges by bringing practice property into the wider group structure.

Open to Dialogue

We are open to working with anyone — open to merger discussions, open to sharing ideas or IT solutions, and open to supporting groups to start their own local group practices. We want change, and we want dialogue. Scale gives us a voice; mergers give us security.

Training & Education

We are proud to support the training of future healthcare professionals.

1
Our practices regularly welcome medical students and nursing students across multiple sites.
2
We teach postgraduate doctors, helping to develop the next generation of GPs.
3
By investing in training, we help to secure the future of NHS care for communities across central Scotland.
Continuous Improvement

We are committed to learning, adapting, and improving our services over time. The NHS has to do better — and we take that seriously.

Patient Feedback

We regularly review patient feedback and carry out surveys to help us understand what is working well and where we can improve.

Annual Inspections

We conduct an inspection of all 14 sites annually, ensuring consistent standards of safety, environment, and care across the partnership.

Service Redesign

Productivity and service redesign are key priorities. We continuously review how work is structured across our hubs to find efficiencies that benefit both patients and staff.

Patient feedback ratings have remained consistently around 4.4 out of 5 across our sites.
Work With Us

We believe the future of general practice lies in partnership, scale, and intelligent redesign — while keeping patient care at the centre of every decision. If you are facing workload, staffing, or sustainability pressures, we would welcome a conversation.
